At Peak Women, we have the privilege of witnessing incredible transformations every day. One of our long-term clients, who wishes to remain anonymous, has graciously shared her inspiring journey with us. Her story is a testament to the profound impact personal training can have on both physical and mental health.

A Reluctant Start

Three years ago, our client was hesitant to step into a gym. Like many women, she felt overwhelmed by the prospect of starting a workout routine. However, she recognized the need for balance in her life to achieve her goals and decided to give Peak Women a try.

Finding Balance and Strength

Since beginning her weekly and sometimes biweekly personal training sessions with Lissa Pietrykowski, she has experienced a remarkable transformation.

“As a woman client of Peak Women and a mental health survivor and advocate, weekly and sometimes biweekly personal training sessions with Lissa Pietrykowski have greatly improved my life. Training sessions have increased my energy and endurance, strengthened my confidence, and enhanced my overall physical and mental health.

Since starting personal training sessions with Lissa, I have accomplished some of my biggest life goals.

I knew I needed some extra balance in my life to be able to reach these goals, and developing a fitness regimen was the balance I needed.

Developing this consistent workout routine gave me the physical and mental stamina to accomplish these goals in my personal life, leading to fulfillment. This decreased my symptoms of depression and anxiety. Working out my stress in the gym made me a better aunt, sister, daughter, volunteer, student, and friend. By taking care of my own fitness, I developed the endurance to persevere through an hour-long workout, which gave me the perseverance to overcome challenges in my life. I was able to reconnect with the athlete I was in high school, and at the same time, I did this while accepting the new love for my womanly, resilient figure.

Whenever I had a particularly stressful week, I was excited to work off the stress by

doing seated ball slams with a weighted ball. I tried to leave the stress at the gym and refocus on the goals and tasks in front of me for the new week. I felt less restless. In my time outside of the gym, I incorporated walking, bike riding, and swimming into my routine. My family has commented my body looks stronger and healthier since starting to train. They said I have more of a brighter appearance. Even so, I have liked going to Peak Physique because they accept me on my good and bad days. On my good days, I am enthusiastic and ready to face my workout; on challenging days, Lissa and I talk things through and devise a modified workout to fit where I am, physically and mentally.

Peak Physique is a positive environment to be around. Women encourage women.

You are welcome to talk and share ambitions, and also, on some days, if preferred, use the space for quiet, calm, and refocus. It’s encouraging to see that I am able to gradually withstand lifting higher weights. At the same time, there is no pressure for this. Lissa asks how the weights feel and if you need a lower or higher weight, and she is accommodating. I am proud of my fitness achievements and personal life goals I have accomplished during my time at Peak Physique. I am looking forward to continuing on my fitness journey with Peak Physique. In writing this, I encourage this experience for other women. It is worthwhile to invest in your health and well-being, that will overflow positively into all other aspects of life.
